The Mystery of the Homicidal Maniac

Sometimes mysteries can be suspensful, gory and fun.  Here is an example that I enjoyed writing.  I must give credit where do...my daughter gave me the idea.

The Mystery Of The Homicidal Maniac
by Lisa McCourt Hollar

“His wife found him this morning. He was just laying there, head between his coffee and bagel, legs in the corner and his middle…well, what looks like his middle…flattened like a pancake, umm, beside the pancakes.”

“Who would have done a thing like this?”

“I don’t know Izzy, but I intend to find out.”

Flynt shook his head, looking over the scene of the latest murder in a series of murders that had left him stumped. There seemed to be no rhyme or reason to the killings, each victim slaughtered in such a way as to leave no doubt they were done by the same homicidal maniac, but no correlation between them to give any clue as to who or why? This poor guy had been in the middle of breakfast. Another had been working at the computer while his family slept. They found him the next morning, his insides smeared across the computer screen.

“Chief, they found another body!” Izzy sounded strained.

“Where?”

“In there. It looks like he was trying to escape. Boss, the killer is still there. Arrogant bastard splattered the grandfathers workings all over the window, then laid down on the couch and went to sleep. He still has the weapon in his hand.”

Flynt looked down at the culprit responsible for the carnage that had taken place on his watch, relieved that he would finally have someone in custody.

“Alright, let’s be careful,” Flynt said, motioning for his men to surround the suspect. “We want this to be nice and clean for the prosecution.”

As his officers surrounded him the suspect stirred and opened his eyes. Lifting his weapon he brought it down. Flynt tried to dodge but wasn’t quick enough. The killer wiped Flynt’s insides off the bludgeon then aimed again.

“Damn fly’s.”
