The Fourth Day Of Creepfest and An Un-Dead Christmas Carol

On The Fourth Day Of Creepfest My True Love Gave To Me...

Four Werewolves Howling
Three French Fried Eyeballs
Two Corpses Walking
And a Zombie Hanging From A Christmas Tree!

I haven't done a Vamplit Friday Flash in a few weeks. Editing Christmas stories and getting them up for the Creepfest was taking top priority. So now that I am done and they are available on kindle, I am soooo ready to get back into the swing of things again and write for fun. The Vamplit theme this week is Seasons Greetings from the Un-dead. Enjoy.

An Un-Dead Christmas Carol

Gone are the days of singing Christmas Carols and drinking hot cocoa around an open fire. Christmas trees no longer stand inside the windows of homes and children no longer dream of sugarplumbs, whilst waiting for Santa Claus to come down their chimney, with a bag full of presents just for them.

Christmas is dead, as are most of the human population. War ended the argument of whether it was Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays or Fuck you and go to Hell. Now the only thing walking the streets on Christmas Eve are the un-dead and they aren't saying anything. They are planning a holiday feast however.

A small group of refugees have been hiding in the sewers. The un-dead have caught their scent and are heading their way. It isn't going to be pretty.

So sing along with me, for this Zombie Christmas Season.

Do You Smell What I Smell?
Said the vampire to the rotting corpse,
"Do you smell what I smell?
In the sewers beneath the streets below.
Do you smell what I smell?
Blood rushing through living arteries.
Pumping from a heart filled with life.
Pumping from a heart filled with life."

Said the rotting corpse to the walking dead,
"Do you hear what I hear?
Ringing through the streets, taunting us?
Do you hear what I hear?
A heart, a heart, hiding down below
With a beat as loud as a drum,
With a beat as loud as a drum."

Said the walking dead to the mummy king,
"Do you know what I know?
In the sewers beneath the street, mighty king,
Do you know what I know?
A life, a life living underground--
Let us eat him with honey and mold,
Let us eat him with honey and mold.."

Said the mummy king to zombies everywhere,
"Listen to what I say!
A feast, a feast, un-dead, everywhere,
Listen to what I say!
The living, the living hiding in the drains,
They will bring us intestines and brains,
They will bring us intestines and brains.."

So when the sewers are pried open and the un-dead come to call, listen carefully one and all. For Santa is among them...he is their un-dead king.

MERRY CRYPTMAS! From The Un-Dead.
